What is the difference between the Foster and the Nurse Sow Wean events in Care 3000? When should each one be used?
Answer
The foster event is used to moved piglets from one lactating sow to another lactating sow. Foster events can be entered multiple times within one parity.

The Nurse Sow Wean event is used to wean a sow's original or current litter and then foster other piglets onto her on the same day. Her status remains as lactating. A complete wean event will need to be entered once the "new" litter has been removed from the sow, changing her status to dry. A Nurse Sow Wean event can be entered more than once per parity.
