| How do I filter reports for a range of sow identities? | | Question | | Our sow herd is identified with different colors of ear tags - each color representing a specific research trial that the sow belongs to. For the most part, the first letter of the color of the tag is the first character in their ID. Is it possible to filter reports so only those animals show? | Answer | Absolutely! And it's fairly easy to do!
Let's say that you want all sows with red tags to show on the report. If they were tagged as R100, for example, you would do the following:
Run the report and then click on the filter option. In the filter screen, select identity as your attribute. Choose "like" as your operator. For the value, you would need to enter R%. This would include any animal who has an "R" for the first character in their identity.
If the character you wish to filter for is located at the end of the identity, you would use %R (where R is the character). And if the character is in the middle of the identity, you would use %R% (again, where R is the character).
