| Batch Gilt Arrivals | | Question | | I’d like to try using the batch gilt arrival or the batch wean event, however my numbers are not always consecutive. For example, I may have sows 1 through 100 to enter, but there may not be a 59 or 73.
Do I have to enter these one at a time then, or is there a way to delete an ID after it has been arrived?
| Answer | The Batch Gilt Arrival is a great time saver when you are arriving a large group of identities, however the ID's do need to be consecutive, they must all have the same genetics (which can be edited after arrival), and the ID's cannot already reside in the database.
If there are only a few ID's that are not consecutive, then yes, you can enter a batch gilt arrival for the entire group, then delete the few ID's that are not actually in the herd. Keep in mind that in the long run, this way may not be any faster than entering each individual ID.
If there are several ID's that are not in the herd, then you may want to arrive smaller batches. For example, if you have a batch of gilts to enter with ID's 1 through 100, but do not have ID's 20-25, then just arrive two seperate batches - one for ID's 1 through 19, and another for ID's 26 through 100. | Back to Search Results |
